COPIES OF EGG TEMPERA PAINTINGS
For my egg tempera painting copies, I always prepare my own supports using wooden panels (typically linden wood). I then adhere a linen canvas to the panel using rabbit glue before applying a ground layer made from rabbit glue mixed with chalk.
For painting, I create my own egg tempera paints by mixing pigments with a binder made of egg yolk and vinegar. For gilding, I typically use real gold flakes applied on a bolus layer.
