ABOUT ME

I am a Polish artist based in Prague with experience across various artistic disciplines. My career began in art restoration and copy painting, and I later transitioned into digital painting, matte painting and animation through my work with the Oscar-winning studio Breakthru Films.

I hold a Master’s degree in Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, which I obtained in 2019. After graduation, I worked as an art restorer for approximately two years at the Corpus Christi Basilica in Cracow.

In 2021, I entered the film industry by joining Breakthru Films, a studio renowned for the Oscar-winning “Peter and the Wolf” and the Oscar-nominated “Loving Vincent”. My first project was the animated feature film “The Peasants” (2023), Poland’s official submission for the 2024 Academy Awards, which gained international acclaim. On this project, I worked as an oil-painting animator, matte painter, inbetweening artist, and inbetweening supervisor. I also played a key role in establishing the four distinct color palettes—one for each season shown in the movie. I quickly advanced from a junior to a senior Photoshop artist, becoming one of the leading contributors in this field.

Following this, I joined the production of another animated feature, “A Winter’s Journey”, where I currently serve as a lead digital painter and animator. Additionally, I contributed background designs for the upcoming short animation “Timeless Chopin”, which will be presented at the Polish Pavilion during Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai.

I am also working as a freelance 2D artist and illustrator contributing to many different projects like children’s book illustration, music videos etc.

I am a highly adaptable team player and fast learner, always seeking new challenges and opportunities that will enhance my artistic skills and broaden my expertise.

“I've had the pleasure of working with Agnieszka on an upcoming feature, where she took on the role of Lead Artist. Her contribution to the digital painting animation has been nothing short of outstanding. She created hundreds of beautifully executed keyframes, perfectly capturing and extending the visual style set by the film's art director.

What stands out about Agnieszka is not only her incredible artistic skill and meticulous attention to detail, but also her collaborative and professional approach. She's a team player who communicates clearly, adapts smoothly, and always delivers work that elevates the production. On top of that, she's highly reliable in estimating the time required for her tasks, which is an invaluable quality for keeping a project on track.

Agnieszka is a rare blend of artistry and professionalism, and I'm glad to have the chance to collaborate with her.”

“Agnieszka created artwork (& cover design) for my book on the Roman army. I put the project as a proposal, inviting multiple artists to pitch their ideas, based on a vague description (on my part) of what I was looking for. Most artists either described what they would do, or offered a very rough black-&-white sketch, translating my idea into an image. Agnieszka's sketch was by far the most detailed (& in color), but it stood out mainly because she brought in Roman visual motifs that I didn't know to ask for. She understood the visual impact I was looking for, & with an artist's eys, she produced it in a way I hadn't anticipated.

Additionally, the cover-design was great (Roman lettering in perfect proportions, a distressed fresco look, perfect color contrast between the title & the art...).

Throughout, Agnieszka was generous with her time (multiple revisions, fixing details I wanted fixed & details that I missed but she caught), always came in ahead of schedule, and was up-front about the (fair) price.

Her professional demeanor made the whole process easy & pleasant, and of course, the final product looks great. Agnieszka is a creative & exacting artist, an honest broker, and an attentive, patient, & responsive contractor. It was a pleasure to work with her & I recommend her without reservation.”

“Working with Agnieszka Pastorok-Korzeniowska has been an absolute pleasure. Her undeniable talent is evident in every detail, and her ability to translate my vision into a striking, professional design exceeded my expectations. She was attentive to feedback throughout the process, and the final result is, without question, the best cover I've ever had. I'm already looking forward to collaborating with her again.”

“I had the pleasure to work with Agnieszka on two projects, and I can confidently say that she is a truly talented artist. She has a natural gift for painting, both in traditional and digital formats. Her outstanding ability to recreate painting styles, including those of well known and established painters, makes her a great choice for practically any form of painting artwork.

During our collaboration, she was always professional, reliable and dedicated. Delivering the highest quality results on time. Her attention to detail and passion for the craft, makes her one of those unique artists that you can be confident with. Who will not only meet the highest standards but also deliver the work on time.

I can highly recommend Agnieszka to anyone looking for an exceptional artist with a real talent.”

“Agnieszka, with whom have had the pleasure of working for many years, is a creative animator, painter, illustrator and designer. Together, we were creating the films The Peasants (directed by DK Wechman and Hugh Welchman) and Winterreise (directed by Alex Helfrecht), as well as other Breakthru Films projects.

Agnieszka is not only an artist of exceptional talent, but also one who is conscientious and responsible for her assigned areas of projects. She also has managerial and teaching skills - together we supervised the work of a group of several dozen painters and animators.

Agnieszka maintaines a high level of professionalism at every stage of each project. She demonstrates commitment by proposing many solutions, which result in both the highest aesthetic level and technical and organisational improvements that allow for the refinement of the project implementation process. She has extensive experience in painting animation, both in the stop-motion oil technique and using digital painting tools. She is able to work in small project groups as well as large teams, and copes very well with working under time pressure. In addition to her undoubted artistic, technical and managerial skills, Agnieszka is also extremely pleasant to work with. She has many soft skills, is helpful and well-liked by her team. I highly recommend Agnieszka to any employer, especially for tasks requiring creativity and patience.”
